Dr. Kyungjin Yoo is a highly accomplished performer and music educator based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. She holds both a Master’s and Doctorate in Cello Performance from the University of North Texas, where she studied under the guidance of Eugene Osadchy. During her time at UNT, Dr. Yoo served as principal cellist for both the Symphony and Concert Orchestras, showcasing her exceptional artistry and leadership.
Dr. Yoo has performed at prestigious international music festivals such as LyricaFest, the Summit Music Festival, and the Boston Early Music Festival. She is also an active member of the Plano Symphony Orchestra, Richardson Symphony Orchestra, and Irving Symphony Orchestra, regularly collaborating with several other ensembles throughout the metroplex. Her extensive performing experience enriches her teaching, offering students both technical guidance and artistic inspiration.
For the past 14 years, Dr. Yoo has successfully led a thriving cello studio. Her students regularly achieve outstanding success, earning placements in All-Region and All-State orchestras, as well as participation in esteemed youth ensembles like GDYO and DAAYO. In addition to her teaching, Dr. Yoo serves as a sectional coach for the Philharmonic Orchestra at DAAYO and frequently contributes to the music community as a masterclass instructor and clinician. She is often invited to guide students for All-Region and All-State orchestra auditions, sharing her expertise with the next generation of cellists.
